Akhil Patel, PhD

Akhil Patel leads enabling analytical technologies and device serial innovation for biologics and cell implants at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. With expertise spanning process analytical technology, phase-appropriate technology scouting, and clinical de-risking, he specializes in bridging the translational gap between early development and commercialization. Prior to Vertex, Akhil served as an Applied Regulatory Scientist at FDA and provided strategy and pre-clinical study consulting for seed-stage startups, including academic spin-offs. He is pharmacist by training from GTU, India and holds MS and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Pittsburgh. Akhil champions robust analytical frameworks for next-generation delivery ecosystems.
