Jose Lagaron, PhD

Dr. Jose M. Lagaron is a Full Professor, Founder, and Group Leader of the Novel Materials and Nanotechnology for Health Applications Group at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). He is also the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of the deep-tech drug delivery company Bionanopharma S.L., part of the Insud Pharma Group.

 

According to Scopus, Dr. Lagaron has authored more than 375 peer-reviewed publications, holds 78 patents, and has an h-index of 84, reflecting his internationally recognized contributions to biopolymers, nanotechnology, and nanobiotechnology. He serves on the editorial boards of several leading scientific journals and is currently Vice President of BIOVAL, the Bioregion of the Valencian Community, Spain.

Dr. Lagaron has also founded several successful nanobiotechnology companies, including Bioinicia S.L. and Bionanopharma S.L., playing a pivotal role in translating advanced materials and drug delivery technologies from research into commercial and clinical applications. His work focuses on the development and scale-up of innovative electrohydrodynamic technologies for the manufacture of next-generation, patient-centric biotherapeutic products.
