Mohammad Ali Amini, PhD

Bio:

Dr. Mohammad Ali (Mo) Amini is a scientist-entrepreneur and Co-founder and CEO of QurCan Therapeutics, a University of Toronto spin-off developing nanoparticle technologies for targeted delivery of RNA-based therapeutics. He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Toronto. At QurCan, Mo leads corporate strategy, fundraising, business development and operations. He has guided the advancement of TERP™, the company’s proprietary non-viral delivery platform designed to cross the blood-brain barrier and enable treatments for neurological and rare genetic disorders. Under his leadership, QurCan has established academic and commercial collaborations globally, including a strategic research and collaboration agreement with Eli Lilly and Company. A recipient of multiple entrepreneurship awards, Mo combines scientific expertise with entrepreneurial leadership to translate research into precision medicines that address significant unmet needs and improve the lives of patients and families.
