Scott Compel, PhD

Bio:

Scott Compel, PhD, co-founded AEMS Corp to tackle complex formulation problems. He serves as CEO, but he is a scientist at heart. He is happiest at the frontier of science, where stubborn problems call for new approaches.

Scott earned his PhD at Colorado State University, developing combinatorial screening strategies to improve the reproducibility of nanoparticle synthesis. He then conducted postdoctoral research in polymer composite materials engineering at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. While there, he completed a national laboratory entrepreneurship program and won two Department of Energy pitch competitions. Those experiences convinced him to launch AEMS and shaped the cross-disciplinary perspective he now brings to pharmaceutical formulation.

At AEMS, Scott has built a culture where ideas can come from anyone and difficult questions are worked through together. The company’s guiding principle is simple: be the kind of people others want to work with. That applies both within the AEMS team and in every client collaboration.
