Bio:
Sean leads discovery research for non-viral delivery within Eli Lilly's Genetic Medicine organization. His group focuses on extrahepatic delivery of genetic medicines to hard-to-reach tissues where the absence of robust, targeted, non-viral systems remains the gating constraint on translating novel biology into therapies.
That posture reflects how Lilly is assembling its genetic-medicine delivery capability: through the acquisitions of ORNA Therapeutics, Verve Therapeutics and Engage Bio, and partnerships including Repertoire Immune Medicines. Sean serves as a scientific interface across these efforts, integrating external platforms with internal targeting and formulation science, and his remit extends to competitive intelligence, due diligence, and cross-functional program leadership.
At PODD, he is interested in partnerships around ionizable lipid chemistry, novel targeting ligands, and cargo technologies enabling durable expression.
Sean holds a doctorate in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University.
