Shaukat Ali, PhD, FAAPS

Bio:

Dr. Ali is Sr. Director of Scientific Affairs and Technical Marketing at Ascendia Pharma. He worked in the Pharma industry for over 30 years. His expertise includes synthesis and formulation of small molecules such as lipids and oncology drugs, liposomes and gene delivery, hot melt extrusion, spray drying among, self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS.SMEDDS).Dr. Ali obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the City University of New York, NY, and continued his postdoctoral work in Physical Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Minnesota and Cornell University.  Dr. Ali served as a member of the editorial advisory board of several pharmaceutical journals. He is also the Editor-In-Chief of Journal of Analytical and Pharmaceutical Research. Dr. Ali is serving as vice chair of the USP Council of Expert for Excipient Test Methods committee (2020-2025). Dr. Ali is the recipient of IPEC Foundation’s 2020 Henk de Jong industrial research award for his contributions to formulations and excipient technologies. He has published over 60 articles in scientific journals and inventor of several US and European patents. Dr. Ali is also an AAPS Fellow.
