Sinan Gölhan

Bio:

Sinan Gölhan is the CEO and co-founder of GelTech Labs, a San Diego company automating biomaterials research and development. GelTech combines AI for experiment planning, simulation, and analysis with robotics for formulation and characterization, giving drug delivery and biomaterials teams faster, more reproducible data across a much larger formulation design space.

Sinan’s background is in biomaterials research at Harvard Medical School and the University of California, San Diego. Working at the bench, he saw how much of materials development depends on slow, manual testing that produces inconsistent data and limits how many formulations a team can realistically explore. He left his PhD program at UC San Diego to build GelTech full time and solve that problem at the platform level.

Under his leadership, GelTech has developed Carousel, an automated instrument for testing hydrogels and polymeric systems, and AnGel, an AI platform that turns standardized experimental data into predictive insight. The company works with pharmaceutical, medical device, and biomaterials partners on applications from long-acting injectable depots to wound care, offering both automated testing services and platform technology.

Sinan’s focus is closing the gap between in vitro data and real-world performance. He believes the next generation of drug delivery will be built on predictive, data-rich development rather than trial and error, and that automation is what makes that shift possible.
