Bio:
Dr Takayuki Yoshida, PhD, is Senior Director and Head of DDS (drug delivery system) at Astellas Pharma Inc. His team identifies global innovations in novel DDS, formulation, and device technologies and forges partnerships and collaborations with start-ups and academic institutions. He also leads the integration of these technologies into marketed products for life cycle management, as well as into assets in clinical development and discovery research. His current focus includes scouting technologies for oral absorption enhancement of compounds, high‑concentration formulations for antibodies/ADCs, and automation of formulation screening, as well as establishing new partnerships around Astellas’s ear DDS technologies. Dr. Yoshida brings over 25 years of experience in DDS and formulations, with expertise in pharmacokinetic control, alternative routes of administration, drug-device combination products, and nanoparticle‑based delivery. His work has contributed to multiple successful product launches and awards, and he is an inventor on several patents and the author of more than 40 publications.
