Bio:

Tarek Fadel, PhD is the Director of Strategic Alliances at the MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, where he manages strategic partnerships with industry and research foundations. At MIT, he is also the Associate Director of the Marble Center for Cancer Nanomedicine, a research center led by Sangeeta Bhatia and joined by Daniel Anderson, Angela Belcher, Michael Birnbaum, Paula Hammond, and Bob Langer. 

Tarek obtained his Ph.D. in 2011 and completed his postdoctoral training at Yale University, where he researched nanoscale constructs for artificial antigen presentation and cancer immunotherapy. As an Advanced Graduate Leadership Fellow, he completed a cross-training program at the Yale School of Management in business development and strategy. Before joining MIT, Tarek was the Executive Secretary for the Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology, a Subcommittee within the White House’s National Science and Technology Council in Washington DC. The subcommittee is the main coordinating body for the U.S. National Nanotechnology Initiative. He has also held senior research and engineering positions at the International Technology Research Institute (Vice President for Research), LSI Logic (Process Engineer), and Hewlett Packard (Product Engineer). Tarek currently serves on the advisory board of the MIT Science Policy Review.
