Thierry Nivaggioli, PhD

Bio:

Thierry Nivaggioli, PhD, is an industry leader in ocular biotechnology and drug delivery, and currently serves as CEO of Synakis.

Prior to Synakis, Thierry led biologic drug delivery at Genentech/Roche for approximately 15 years, where he evaluated and advanced multiple ocular drug delivery technologies. He was instrumental in the development of Susvimo, a long-acting, refillable implant designed to deliver ranibizumab for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema.

Earlier in his career, Thierry co-founded MacuSight and contributed to the development of Ozurdex at Oculex/Allergan, the first PLGA-based biodegradable implant approved for the treatment of diabetic macular edema and uveitis.

Thierry holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and completed his postdoctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
