Wendy Naimark, PhD

Co-Founder & CTO

Ripple Therapeutics

Bio:

Dr. Naimark’s industry career began at Boston Scientific's Corporate R&D group, where she developed gene and protein therapies for refractory angina and led regulatory submission strategy for Class III combination product approvals. She then joined a Harvard/MIT-founded startup to direct clinical and preclinical development of a drug-eluting, biodegradable scaffold for superficial femoral artery disease.

In 2016, Dr. Naimark returned to Canada to join Interface Biologics, where she led the Epidel® drug delivery platform development. A pivotal 2017 discovery redirected the technology toward sustained-release ocular implants, and following Interface's sale of its Endexo® line to Evonik, Epidel® was spun out to form Ripple Therapeutics.

In the six years since, Ripple has advanced Epidel® from discovery through Phase 2 clinical proof of concept, raised a $14M USD Series A plus $55M USD in partnership and non-dilutive capital, and signed development and licensing option agreements with three leading ophthalmology strategics — AbbVie, Bausch + Lomb, and Glaukos. The company is now raising a $15M USD Series B to advance its Dry AMD program into the clinic.

Dr. Naimark brings over two decades of experience translating biomaterials science into approved medical technologies, with deep expertise spanning drug delivery, regulatory strategy, and combination product development across cardiovascular and ophthalmic disease areas.
