Yasuyuki Izumi, MBA, is currently the President of FUJIFILM Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., where he leads business development efforts focused on drug delivery system technologies, particularly licensing and CDMO services for lipid nanoparticles (LNP) and liposomes. With over 21 years of experience at FUJIFILM Corporation, Yasuyuki has a strong background in pharmaceutical formulation, CMC development, and project management.
Starting as a scientific researcher in nano-materials, he gained foundational expertise in nanotechnology, which has been instrumental in advancing LNP-based drug delivery platforms. As a formulation scientist, Yasuyuki conducted research and development on various nanoparticle formulations. Later, as a CMC project manager, he gained extensive experience in technology transfer and process development for a diverse range of formulations, including complex nanoparticle products, to CDMOs in the U.S. and Europe.
In recent years, he transitioned to business development roles, bridging technical knowledge with strategic partnerships to expand FUJIFILM’s footprint in the LNP and liposome sectors. Yasuyuki’s unique combination of hands-on scientific experience and leadership in CMC and business development positions him as a key contributor to innovations in nanomedicine and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
