Session details:
As the demand grows for longer-acting and more complex drug formulations, the need to subcutaneously self-inject volumes beyond the conventional 1 to 2 mL range is increasing.
This year’s presentation will:
- Showcase the latest research presented and published in 2025-26 by SHL and others targeting delivery volumes of 2 to 5 mL.
- Detail the experimental methods and imaging techniques that are being used to ascertain what is possible to deliver into the subcutaneous tissue.
- Highlight the delivery parameters that appear most promising across needle geometries, dose volumes, viscosities, and delivery rates.
- Make predictions for how the field may evolve and what this means for drug, device and container developers and the patients we serve.
