Extroducer® - Supporting the Next Wave of Advanced Therapies through Endovascular Intra-Tissue Delivery

Thu, Oct 29 | 06:15 PM - 06:22 PM
Independence

Session details:

  1. Delivery can be a limiting factor. Some novel modalities are limited by their ability to reach target tissue at effective concentrations. Attendees will learn to assess whether delivery limits their own programs.
  2. Endovascular access, intraparenchymal delivery. The Extroducer® is a catheter designed to navigate the vascular network. Its thin and flexible needle exits the vessel to infuse therapeutic payloads into the target tissue or organ, for example, in abdominal organs such as the pancreas, kidney, and liver, without open surgery. Attendees will discuss the rationale for local delivery compared with systemic or open-surgical routes. The Extroducer is FDA 510(k) cleared for infusion into the extravascular space in the peripheral vasculature, including abdominal tissues. Targeted delivery to the heart, brain, and lungs is also being explored as investigational indications.
  3. Decide the delivery strategy early. The route of administration defines the treatment paradigm, which drives development planning, economics, and ultimately partnering options. Attendees will see why settling the strategy early matters.
